herself　to　her　feet。　Her　left　leg　sent　bolt　after　bolt　of　pain　all　the　way　up　to

her　hip。　Her　face　was　ashy　pale　but　set。　She　leaped　onto　his　back　as　his　hand

closed　over　the　shaft　of　the　roque　mallet。
